                            Have You Developed Your Vision? 10/31/2011

                            Proverbs 29:18, “Where there is no vision the people perish, but he that keeps the law, happy is he.”I should note I paraphrased this passage of scripture from the (ESV) version of the Holy Bible. Who said this? Not some get-rich-quick guru or success coach/motivational speaker, but God Himself!

                            So what does that mean? It means it is very important that we not only understand this verse, but that we live it as well. Let’s look at two main words in the first part of the verse of scripture. First, we see the word vision. Vision can be defined many different ways, but for this writing I will define it as an ability to see in our minds God’s destination for our lives, our church, our homes or any
                            place where change is needed. Then we take this vision and use it to light an
                            inward fire that causes us to take steps to achieve our vision and it also gives
                            us the ability to share the vision with others.

                            Secondly, we see the word perish. This is not talking about dying in the physical sense, but more about becoming useless in fulfilling God’s plan for our lives. Nobody really wants to die and deep down nobody has a desire to be useless in life. I lost many of you right there because many people do appear like they are very happy being useless. However, deep down they don’t want to be viewed as useless. They just need some help creating a vision and a mindset that they can
                            accomplish their vision.

                            Listen do not confuse vision with goals. Vision is the end result and goals are your roadmap. For example, one vision you may have is seeing yourself 79 pounds lighter. In order to do that you need to set daily goals that lead to weekly goals, which results in yearly goals.

                            In closing, do you have a vision for your life? Have you laid out your success plan
                            to get to your vision? Here are a few examples where you may need to define your vision:

                            * Family Life
                            * Education
                            * Health
                            * Career
                            * Spiritual

                            This list could go on for some time, but typically these are the most often areas of life mentioned to us.

                            Yours in Success,
